Southbank | Altrincham
Maya Property is delighted to have secured planning permission for Southbank, a development of eight new three- and four-bedroom townhouses on Bridgewater Road in Altrincham
Working with leading architects, Ollier Smurthwaite, Maya has designed a scheme that complements its appealing waterside location and casts a respectful nod back to the site’s industrial heritage, as the home of the Radium Shoe Polish Factory.
Southbank has been designed to complement the busy lifestyles of modern families and young professionals and offers stylish open plan living along with a high specification and superior standard of finish. Each property will benefit from outdoor living space, two allocated car parking spaces and the use of electric vehicle charging points and secure cycle storage.
The approved scheme is the culmination of 2 years of consultation with planning officers, local Councillors and the general public and has seen Maya shift away from its original plan to deliver an apartment scheme.
Says Tom Morley, Acquisitions Manager at Maya Property, “We had a strong vision for the site from the offset and, inspired by the location’s industrial past, were originally hoping to create an edgy apartment scheme that could rival those offered in Manchester’s Castlefields and parts of the Northern Quarter.
“But after listening to the desires of local residents, and having observed critical changes in demand on the local property market, we evolved our ambitions. We absolutely love the scheme and are confident that local buyers will too,” Tom adds.
Work on Southbank is expected to start in early Summer with Gascoigne Halman in Altrincham on board as selling agents.
